    The ADFIAP’s Institute of Development Finance (IDF) will conduct a Study Tour Program on Vietnamese Microfinance Enterprise and Community Development in Vietnam on May 27-31, 2014.  The program aims to enhance the participants’ knowledge and understanding of microfinance enterprise and community development in Vietnam. It has been structured to give a more relevant and practical perspective on MSME  financing and development by incorporating different avenues of learning through lectures, visits to policy-makers, institutional visits to conduits of MSME funds, project visits and sharing of experiences by participants coming from different countries in the Asia-Pacific region leading to a fuller understanding of the significant roles that financial institutions play in the development not only of Vietnam’s economy and poverty alleviation effort but also the development of MSME sector in their respective countries. 

    Target participants are officers and managers of banks, financial institutions, policy/regulatory agencies, consulting firms, private and public corporations, and other NGOs engaged in MSME development.

    Participation fee is US$1,599 (US$1,899 for non-ADFIAP members) which is inclusive of lunch and refreshments during the program, learning materials, program-related trips, and certificate of attendance.  Airfare and hotel accommodation will be for the account of the participant and/or the participating institution.

    Regretfully, ADFIAP cannot provide financial assistance for participants since this study program is not covered by any grant.  Program slots are limited, and participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.

  2. ADFIMI Workshop on “The use of Islamic Finance Instruments in Development Finance”, Mövenpick Hotel, Istanbul, Turkey, 23-24 April 2014

    ADFIMI announces an ordinary workshop on “The use of Islamic Finance Instruments in Development Finance” to be held at Mövenpick Hotel, Istanbul, Turkey on 23-24 April 2014.

    There will be three resource persons at the Workshop:

    Mr. Mehmet Serdar Kabukçuoglu, Head of Business Development and Strategy Dept., Development Bank of Turkey; Mr. Osman Çelik, Executive Vice President, Türkiye Finans Participation Bank; and Dr. Osman Babiker Ahmed, Lead Training Specialist, Training Division, Islamic Research and Training Institute – Islamic Development Bank.

    The objective of the workshop is to review the conventional development financing mechanisms as well as the Islamic Finance instruments in use and try to provide the attendees with a deeper understanding of how these instruments can be used in development finance. The practice and experience of Islamic Development Bank, the pioneer in the field, will also be described in detail. The workshop will also discuss the challenges in the application of present Islamic Finance instruments to development finance in a panel.

    It will be a delight to see you and / or your colleagues at the seminar.

  3. ADFIMI Ordinary Seminar on “Bank Financial Analyses”, The Green Park Taksim Hotel, Istanbul, Turkey, 26 – 27 March 2014

    The seminar aims:

  4. ADFIAP invited to special GRI G4 launch – 19/12/2013

    On the invitation of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) as a vital Organizational Stakeholder (OS) Member in the region, ADFIAP, represented by its Knowledge Management Head and Sustainability Officer, Mr. Enrique Florencio, attended the launching of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 Guidelines on December 17, 2013 at Hotel Mulia in Jakarta Indonesia. Over a hundred delegates from the corporate reporting community and other stakeholders from Southeast Asia attended the special event.

  5. The WFDFI is to organize a Conference on Islamic Finance jointly with Islamic Development Bank and World Bank in Washington DC on 11 October 2013. The Event will take place in the World Bank Main Building room MC2-800 at 11.00 am

    The conference will be revisiting various aspects of Islamic finance on the occasion of the WB/IMF Annual Meetings. The aim of conference is to provide an opportunity to the global finance community meeting in Washington to hear the latest developments in Islamic Finance.

    The conference will be inaugurated by Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, the President of Islamic Development Bank a pioneer of Islamic finance and Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin Special Envoy of the World Bank President, will deliver the keynote address.

    The conference is free for WFDFI members.
